EDITORIAL POLICY
The International Congress on Sound and Vibration (ICSV) is the annual congress of The International Institute of Acoustics and Vibration (IIAV) and the Proceedings of this congress are published by IIAV every year.
To ensure the proceedings publication of the highest quality, IIAV adhere to the principles as outlined in the item “Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement” included in the menu of the Congress homepage.

Peer review process and editorial oversight of all published content
The editors review all the abstracts submitted to ICSV. The purpose is to assess whether each research context aligns with the topics and the scope of the congress and the contents do not seem to be technically incorrect or advertising commercial products.
All the abstracts, which do not comply with the above requirements, are rejected.
Articles submitted for publication as peer-reviewed papers
For those articles submitted for publication as peer-reviewed papers, editors ensure a fair single-blind review process and assign two reviewers for each paper. In the choice of the reviewers, editors will strive to prevent any potential conflict of interests between the authors and review personnel. A specific online procedure is available in the congress website in order to manage the review process and make easier the communications between editors, reviewers and authors.
For each paper, the two assigned reviewers: a) evaluate the structure and the clarity of the manuscript; b) assess the methodology and the reliability of the results; c) identify if it contributes novel insights to the specific subject; d) check citations and references; e) check the adherence to ethical principles as outlined in the “Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement” as well as the observance of the required editorial format.
At the end, the reviewers send their final recommendations to the first author of the paper and express their judgment about the acceptability, the rejection of the manuscript or the request of changes.
If requested, authors will follow the recommendations by the reviewers and re-submit the paper. Each reviewer who recommended changes for a given paper, will carefully check whether his recommendations have been met and will express his final judgment.
The editors, based on the two reviewers’ final judgements, take the final decision referring to the acceptability or the rejection of each paper submitted for publication as peer-reviewed paper.
Articles submitted for publication as non-refereed papers
For those articles submitted for publication as non-refereed papers, editors read them thoroughly and gain a clear understanding of their content. They evaluate the logical flow of ideas and the clarity of the language; look for any inconsistency or gaps in the data and verify if figures and tables are clear. They also verify that all sources mentioned in the text are included in the reference list and vice versa. In addition, they ensure that the references and citations provided in the paper are accurate, relevant, and up-to-date. Finally, they check the adherence to ethical principles as outlined in the “Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement” and the observance of the required editorial format. If necessary, editors ask the authors to perform some changes and re-submit their papers. Only papers, which pass all the above checks, are included in the Congress Proceedings.
